For Giulietta’s Spring 2016 collection, fashion designer Sofia Sizzi drew inspiration from athleticism and sports, particularly tennis, combined with the power of femininity. The clothes in the collection were the result of a fantasized tennis match between sports and Courréges, the imaginative French label known for its futuristic designs.

Stylist Diego Da Silva of Tim Howard Management collaborated with the designer to create the runway look. “The hair inspiration was this idea of a tennis player tying her own bun during a game,” said Sofia.

“The hair had to be sporty yet elegant,” added Diego. “This look involves three distinct textures… The top of the head is dry, which leads into a shiny, smooth, looped ponytail with a wet sheen along the hairline. The final look is very clean with an edge to feel young, yet timeless.”

Sofia declared, “I use René Furterer products and love them. They are fantastic. The team is great and I love Diego. I could not live withoutGiulietta's Spring B2016smoothpony1 him!”

Step-by-step directions from stylist Diego Da Silva:

To begin, I applied palm-fulls of René Furterer VOLUMEA Volumizing foam – no rinse all over hair in sections, concentrating on roots and brushing back with a boar bristle brush.

Next, I blow-dried the hair with the nozzle close to the roots while brushing in a backward direction. I gathered the hair into a ponytail, making it as smooth as possible and finally secured it with a bungee cord.

I then used my hands to very gently push some hair forward from out of the base of the ponytail only on the top of the head. This helped create some wisps and made the look feel a little less controlled.

I generously sprayed René Furterer FIORAVANTI shine enhancing no rinse detangling spray over the entire ponytail and straightened the hair in sections with a flat iron until it was fully sleek and shiny.

Once the ponytail was completely straight, I created a small loop at the base of the ponytail and secured it tightly with a bungee cord to maintain its shape. I let the remaining ponytail hang straight down.

Finally, using my fingers I applied René Furterer STYLING WAX along the hairline smoothing it back, making the hair appear slightly wet, as if the model had just finished playing a game of tennis.

Inspiration from the Costume Institute Gala

Julianna MarguliesTheCostume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum in New York always draws a luminous crowd, but the stars turned out in force for this year’s fete “Savage Beauty” honouring the late, legendary designer Alexander McQueen. Celebrity stylist Matthew Monzon was behind the scenes to ready  his A-list clients Julianna Margulies and Milla Jovovich, for their grand entrances at this exclusive celebration co-chaired by Colin Firth, Stella McCartney and Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue. Here’s how Matthew and Miok worked their magic.

Goddess glamour for Julianna Margulies
“Julianna’s stunning goddess-inspired white gown influenced the direction for styling her beautiful naturally curly hair,” says celebrity stylist Matthew Monzon of Exclusive Artists Management. “We wanted the look to feel somewhat effortless, yet totally modern and up-to-the minute.

“Starting with damp hair, I applied René Furterer Fioravanti Shine Enhancing No Rinse Detangling Spray. The natural plant extracts in the formula tighten the cuticle to help the surface reflect light, creating incredible shine.

“Next, using a diffuser, I dried Julianna’s hair. Diffusing heat from the dryer through her hair helped to bring out the natural texture. Once hair was diffused, I twisted random sections with a half-inch curling iron to define and refine her curls.

“For extra definition and separation, I then applied a few pumps of René Furterer Myrrhea No Rinse Silkening Fluid to curled sections. The frizz-fighting formula has Myrrh Extract to smooth hair while Avocado Oil nourishes and moisturizes.

“Last, I lifted the back section up, folded it under and secured with pins. Gently raking the sides back with fingers, I also pinned the sides, keeping a soft frame of curls around Julianna’s face. The gorgeous result: a style that’s both beautifully natural and utterly glamorous.”

Free-Spirit Updo for Milla JovovichFree-Spirit Updo for Milla Jovovich
Playful yet polished — those were the buzz words for the fresh take on the updo that celebrity stylist Matthew Monzon of Exclusive Artists Management created for Milla Jovovich. “Her glam mini dress and bold, shoulder-grazing earrings called for an updo that was at once chic yet casual,” says Matthew.

“To give Milla’s hair a shine boost and make it easier to style, I applied René Furterer Fioravanti shine enhancing no rinse detangling spray to damp hair.

“Next, I diffused hair until it was almost 75 percent dry. Leaving hair somewhat damp helps to prevent any tendency to frizz by reducing the amount of heat from the blow-drying process.

“For a smooth, satiny finish, I ran a little René Furterer Myrrhea no rinse silkening fluid through Milla’s hair. This accentuated the texture while keeping hair under control.

“Last, I swept the sides and back into a high ponytail. Then I gently pulled the top back, creating a little height at the crown, and secured it with hair pins. Milla was ready for the red carpet!”
