Here is how to get Cate’s look from Jeanine:

Jeanine used Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadow Quad #2 Effeto Nudo. She used the warm taupe shade all over as a base. The deeper taupe was used on the lid and feathered it into the crease to open up the eye. The light brown shade was mixed with the deeper taupe and applied to the outer crease and center. The darkest brown was used wet as a liner.

A Troy Surratt Lash Curler was used to curl Cate’s lashes. After cutting a strip of false lashes and applying to the corner of the eye, Jeanine applied the Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Custom Volume Mascara to the base of the lashes and pressed it in to give her real lashes a false effect.

Makeup Forever Brow Gel was applied to Cate’s brows.

Jeanine patted SK-II Facial Treatment Essence into the skin before applying foundation. This allowed her to use a more lightweight foundation. It also helps to ensure the makeup stays put all night long.

Jeanine applied Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #10 Beige to the apples of Cate’s cheeks and feathered it out before applying a second coat so she looked like she was glowing from within.

Jeanine finished the look with creamy, beigey-pink lipstick, Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in #103.

The awards season kicked off with the Golden Globes. And with the first red carpet of the season we got our first look at the hottest fashion trends for the coming season. Fashion editors, designers, and buyers know that when it comes to setting trends there is no more powerful force than Hollywood’s gorgeous A-list celebrities. 

Here are some of our favourite Golden Globe looks to inspire you for next “Red Carpet” occasion. And if you can’t afford a couture dress like Cate Blanchett’s or the stunning red Ralph Lauren number Luptia Nyong’o wore, wait a week or two. Lupita Nyong’o’s red Ralph Lauren’s dramatic red sheath with the attached cape and matching shoes was an example of classic elegance. The shoes and streamlined hair emphasized the long, slim lines of the gown. 

Amy Adams wore a stunning retro looking chiffon gown with daring deep V neckline. The dress was two-tones of red. The top is burgundy chiffon and the skirt is made from yards of sheer scarlet chiffon. The various shades of red flattered Amy Adams fair skin. Her simple updo kept the look classic. 

When buying a red dress choose a shade that complements your skin’s undertones.  This year you will find red in shades of pure scarlet ranging to deep burgundy and wine. 

Cate Blanchett was a knockout in a subtle but sexy black lace gown from Armani Couture. The deceptively demure-looking dress had a dramatic open back. Blanchett’s simple blonde bob and soft makeup underlined the elegance of the look without being overdone. 

When buying a lace dress keep the lines sleek and free of extra details. Lace is sexy by itself, so avoid a dress that is too tight or too short. 

Naomi Watts’s show-stopper of a dress was a slim column of liquid silver by Tom Ford. The flattering dress had a halter neck-line set off by a heavy gold chain. The dress was set of by Watts’s sleek blonde, side-parted hair and shimmery makeup. 

A pregnant Olivia Wilde looked adorable in a sleek, shimmery metallic dress of emerald green. The dress displayed her baby bump and the colour looked fabulous with her long, dark hair. 

Metallic dresses are made from chain mail, beading, or other embellished fabrics. Buy the best quality you can afford. Check seams, hems, and embellishments. Make sure everything is secure and will not unravel if you are buying a less expensive dress. This type of dress is must be handled and stored carefully. 

Several actresses opted for less formal tea or ballet-length dresses that hit just below the knee or just above the ankle.  Similar ballerina-inspired dresses had hi-low hemlines that hit above than ankle in form t but dipped lower in back.  Zooey Deschanel’s dress by Oscar de la Renta was an ultra-feminine confection of tulle and beading that just grazed her ankles. The loose fit of the dress did not flatter her figure. Michelle Dockery wore a structured bell-shaped, strapless dress with a high-low hemline tea-length hemline.  

If you opt for a tea length dress never cut your calf with a hemline. Make sure it hits just below the knee or above the ankle. Also, try to control the volume as it is easy to be overwhelmed by too much fabric, which was the problem with Zooey Deschanel’s dress.
