Contour is back. Some blame the Kardashians and their penchant for glamourous selfies and heavy makeup. It is more likely that social media is driving the contour craze. After all, contour, done correctly is a quick and painless cosmetic surgery.

The key to correct contour is placement, blending, and colour. There are kits that combine contour and highlight lighting to make the job easy. Skip elaborate contouring for anything but a studio shoot.

A simple two product compact brushed on lightly and belted should do the job. The “Contour” will be the darker shade. Apply it below your check bones, under your lip and along your jawline. Suck in your checks and follow the line. Blend it. Use a clean brush to add the highlighter across the top of your cheeks and maybe on the top of your ‘cupid’s bow’. Highlighter should give you a glow, not a sparkle. There are kits that come with a few more shades but they are used that same way.
