Time for sparking rosé

smsparkingrose61Click on the top title to open  It has never been cooler to drink rosé in warm weather.  The pale pink wine is riding a surge of popularity. . Rosé has always been my summer libation of choice.  I like it icy cold. I even served on ice, just as it’s enjoyed on the Rivera. I also adore sparkling rosé. It is perfect summer drink – festive, light, and refreshing.

Recently I tried Berlucchi Franciacorta Rosé.  This Italian sparkling wine is produced in the “metodo classic Berlucchi Franciacorta Rosé Franciacorta DOCG – Italy. The sparkling wine is festive, with its beautiful salmon pink colour. The flavour is well-balanced with berry notes and a crisp finish.

Berlucchi Franciacorta Rosé is delicious as an aperitif alone or in a cocktail. It also pairs well with light summer food.

Sparkling rosé and Aperol

Aperol is an Italian “bitter” aperitif that is sweeter but similar to Campari. It is made from an old secret recipe, and contains a blend of bitter orange and herbs. It is popular served in spritzers with sparkling water. It is light and perfect before a dinner on a sultry night. Serve this drink in champagne flutes or over ice.

Chill the Aperol and sparkling rosé.

Fill the glasses 1/3 with Aperol and top with rosé.

Garnish with a tart berry
