Stay cool and sizzle

Heat-friendly cotton panties don't have to be "granny panties". These are cotton from Victoria's Secret.Darlings, this is already a long hot summer, but as we head into late July and August, here are ways to stay cool and gorgeous.
 
Lighten up from the inside out. Think light and cool when choosing food. Skip heavy fatty foods such as whipped cream-laden iced lattes and shakes. Go for unsweetened teas, add Stevia, or look for natural no-cal fruit teas and flavoured waters, such as Hint. You can also add Crystal Light or Mio to filtered water. Hydrate! Eat watermelon, berries, and salads. Light low fat food is easy to digest. And remember to choose anti-oxidant rich tea, melon, berries, and veggies.
 
If juicing appeals to you, try it, but do not go on a juice fast for more than a few days. Extended juice fasting of more than a few days has been shown to result in serious hair loss and other health issues. Juice is high in sugar and has no fiber or protein. It does not supply all essential nutrients for health or beauty!
 
Exercise! Heat can make you sluggish, and lack of exercise can make you feel worse. If you exercise outdoors then move indoors when air quality is bad. Walk in the mall, take a friend or iPod, and make it fun.
 
Wear a hat to protect your head from beating sun. It will help to keep you cool, as well as protect you from deadly skin cancer.
 
On blistering hot days, choose cotton or linen clothing with loose lines. Pretty sundresses with flowing lines or loose legged linen or cotton pants and pretty matching tops are flattering and cool.
