1. Burnish your beauty for fall

Repêchage Hair Spa Thermal Seaweed Mask and singature four layer facial
Fall is in the air you may be feeling a little “beached.” That’s what I call it when your summer hair looks a little fried and your skin feel dry. But don’t despair; it is easy to get your glow back with a little top-to-toe TLC.
You need to be burnished or polished like the jewel that you are, and there is no better way to do it than with a few professional treatments.
Revive dried out, frizzy hair for fall with an intensive salon conditioning treatment.
Recently, I tried the new Repêchage Hair Spa Thermal Seaweed Mask at its launch at the Steve Hightower Salon in Atlanta.
This luxurious hour-long treatment left my fine, colour-treated hair soft, shiny, and full of body. The stylist first applied the self-heating spa mask using a relaxing massage to work it into my hair and scalp. My hair was then covered with a fancy silver cap to help the 18 Amino Acids, 24 trace minerals and other conditioners in the mask deeply penetrate each strand. These unique hair- restoring ingredients come from special seaweed plants.
As the mask did its magic, I was whisked of to see Tamara Townsend, the esthetician at the Steve Hightower salon, for a Repêchage Four-Layer Facial. It is the line’s signature treatment.
Clients at the Steve Hightower salon can maximize their time and relaxation by having a facial, mani-pedi, or massage while they wait for hair treatments to process. It is so much more luxurious than flipping through magazines or hunching over text messages!
The moment Tamara touch my face I knew I was in the hands of an expert. She explained the anti-aging treatment as she applied each layer of the facial. She also stoked away my stress with a heavenly neck and hand massage. Always ask an esthetician to apply any treatment to your décolleté and hands as the skin in these areas age as quickly as your face.
Repêchage Four-Layer Facial consists of 4 layers: 1. Seaweed filtrate, 2. Creamy hydrator that used during the facial massage, 3. Fresh seaweed mask, and 4. the final Mineral layer. The results are visible and immediate. You glow.
After the facial, the hair spa mask was rinsed out of my hair. Then, a leave-in serum was applied. Brian then styled my hair. It looked and felt fabulous. It was shiny and bouncy, and the results lasted for weeks.
I just renewed it myself at home with the Repêchage Hair Spa Seaweed Mask. It contains the same 18 amino acids and 24 minerals as the salon treatment. I also used the Repêchage Hair Spa Serum. Both are great ways to revive hair between salon treatments and fight frizz and dullness. Repêchage Hair Spa Serum can be used any time your hair need a little shine. Just rub a few drops into wet or dry hair. It also smells delish.
You may not be able to find head-to-toe pampering at a single salon, but your regular salon should offer deep conditioning treatments for hair. Select the location for your facial carefully. A good facial should be professional and pampering, and never leave skin red or irritated. You deserve a gentle cleansing and a relaxing massage in scrupulously cleaning surroundings. There shouldn’t be any hard selling of products.

A salon facial should be pampering and luxurious. If you need medical treatments such as intense pulse light (IPL) or anything but a light peel, go to a doctor! However, facials at doctors’ offices are seldom relaxing, hydrating, or luxurious. Know what you need and be sure you get it. Never pay $80-$100 for someone to just steam your face and apply treatments. They are being lazy and you are being cheated – not to mention you can do that at home yourself for much less money.
Here is a list of some of our favourite salons many with multiple locations for pampering treatments, as well as a list of fabulous at home treatments:
Aicha Nassim at Balance Diet in Buckhead, Atlanta. Aicha trained in the legendary spas of Morocco and it shows. I love the all-natural botanical products from Thailand she used on my face. My skin looked luminous. I also loved the complimentary hour in their infra-red sauna before my facial. Infra-red saunas use comfortable dry heat to open your pores and burn calories, reduce stress, and detox the body. Try it.
In Toronto, Ontario, I recommend Fang Wang for a heavenly facial. Fang’s East-West combination of cosmetic acupuncture and all-natural western lotions and potions can be life changing!
In Bangkok, Thailand the spa at the Oriental Hotel is beauty Nirvana. In other cities for decades my choice is to indulge at Guerlain or Clarins, which have spas and salons in many major cities around the world. The French invented the “beauty institute” or spa. These are two of the best and have never disappointed me.
Between professional pampering sessions, keep skin flawless by using a mask at least twice a week. I mask three times a week to remove grime, speed cell turnover, and refine skin texture.
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask: A Revitalizing Treatment Mask will hydrate your skin with potent blend of antioxidant rich botanicals. Lie back for 10 minutes and enjoy the cool sensation.
Revive dull skin in minutes with Dr. Murad’s Intensive-C Radiance Peel. This cream mask wakes up skin as it tackles environmental aging caused by sun, smog, and stress. It leaves skin smoother and more luminous.
Glytone Mini Peel Gel isn’t a mask, but it is a great at-home pick-me-up for skin. It contains glycolic acid to exfoliate and retexturize skin.
Don’t forget to keep your body smooth with a good scrub. I like the new paraben-free body scrubs from St. Ives. I use those head-to-toe several times a week. They are inexpensive and smell divine.
So get ready, darlings, and burnish your beauty.
