Apply Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Metallic Taupe and blend a charcoal eye shadow like Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Coal over and into the eye crease. Line the water (lower inner lash line) and lash line with Mary Kay Eyeliner in Black, smudge the liner using a smudger brush and sweep Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Coal under the lower lash line to create depth.
 
Re-line the top lash line with Mary Kay Liquid Eyeliner and apply a generous coat of Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara for a set of heavenly lashes!
 
For Daisy’s iconic, bright red lip
Apply Mary Kay NouriShine plus Lip Gloss in Rock N’ Red for a vivid, glossy pop of color. For a more versatile red lip, apply Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Sizzling Red. This lipstick can be applied as a balm, a stain, or a full-bodied lipstick.

Recently, I attended the re-launch of MegaGrowth in Atlanta. Created by Strength of Nature, MegaGrowth is anti-breakage system designed to protect and strengthen natural and relaxed hair. The launch party was held in a funky landmark building with exposed brick walls and chandeliers. The sexy star of “Jumping,” Laz Alonso, hosted the event with Tatyana Ali.
 
I was greeted with a purple swag bag, the familiar smell of burnt hair, and Rihanna’s “Diamonds” playing on the loud speakers. There was a bar and a delicious tower of red velvet cupcakes, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and brownies (YUM!).
 
Cosmetologists equipped with hot irons revived attendees’ dos that had wilted in the rain. Talk about planning for the weather! Fun makeovers at the Mane Events!
 
I found a table and took a peak into my swag bag. It was filled with the MegaGrowth’s new and improved Stimulating Shampoo, Anti-Thinning Temple recovery, and Anti-Breakage Strengthening Deep Conditioner – all of which are olive oil, Shea butter, and avocado-enriched. Yes, even your hair ages. How depressing! According to Nexxus hair experts, there are several signs of aging hair: breakage, roughness, less shine, dryness, brittleness, unruliness, and loss of color vibrancy.
 
Nexxus Youth Renewal is a new product line that helps to replenish and revive aging hair. It includes five products including a shampoo, conditioner, and dry shampoo as well as a serum and a blow-dry spray. They all contain the “Vita 8 Complex a blend of Omega 3, Vitamin E, Wheat Protein, sunscreen, Keratin, Essence of Pearl or pearl powder which is a protein and luminizer, Argan Oil, and CoQ10 (anti-oxidant).
 
I tried the NexxusYouth Renewal Rejuvenating Serum, which contains a combination of finishing agents to make the hair look better, as well as rich botanical oils. I also tried the Nexxus Youth Renewal Blow Dry Spray.  It has similar ingredients but is designed help build volume that lasts without weighing your hair down.
 
Both products have silicones added for shine and manageability. I don’t mind silicone in hair styling products if they are not too heavy. I did not find either product heavy even when used together on my fine hair.  After blow-drying and styling my hair was full, shiny, and bouncy all day – even after a vigorous workout. A friend even mentioned how full and manageable it looked.
 
If your hair is looking flat and limp, and you feel that it feels finer and more brittle, this line is definitely worth trying. Follow the directions for best results.

Boating requires serious sun protection, but you also need at least an SPF 30 daily!Sunscreen is still the most effective defense against premature skin aging that we have – even compared with pricy potions, lotions and high-tech treatments. And it helps to prevent deadly skin cancer!
 
The best new sunscreens are light , not sticky, and some even have additional anti-aging ingredients, such as antioxidants and moisturizers. Best of all they are affordable.  
 
Here are a few things you need to know to help get most from your sunscreen and keep your skin young and healthy:
 
You need sun protection daily even on cloudy days, as the damaging rays of the sun can penetrate clouds.
 
You need a good sunscreen even inside, especially if you sit in an office tower with windows. The UVA rays of the sun age your skin and penetrate glass. Have you ever seen how much older someone who drives looks, on the right side of her face?
 
Apply at least SPF30 sunscreen to all exposed skin 30 to 40 minutes before you plan to go out. Slather it on, and do not be stingy. The estimate is a shot-glass to cover your body. I prefer a fast-drying spray.
 
I prefer a non-chemical, mineral sunscreen for my face. Not all experts agree that this is better, but I find it less irritating and I believe it is better for my skin. Many European experts advocate the use of non-mineral sunscreens, especially for the face. Choose what you prefer and wear it. I also carry mineral-based powder with an SPF 30 or 45 SPF to touch up my face during the day.
 
For your body, a high SPF spray can be an easy way to get complete coverage quickly. Spray your body heavily to insure good sun protection.

This herbal tea is full antioxidantsMake your skin smooth and soft with this east-to-make scrub. The scent of rose, lavender, and rosemary will envelop you as it gently smooths your skin. It is almost sinfully sensuous.
 
1 cup of sugar.
(Sugar is actually good for skin when applied topically. During the middle Ages, long before antibiotics, savvy chatelaines healed their knight’s wounds with sugar.)
 
1 cup of coarse sea or kosher salt
 
2 tbsp. mixed dried organic rose petals and lavender. You can order organic dried petals as rose tea, or even use the contents of a Numi Rose teabag. The tea is delicious and the white tea is fine in the scrub as it is full of antioxidants. Dried rose petals are full of antioxidants and Vitamin C.
 
2 tablespoons of fresh rosemary. Strip the leaves off the stalks and rough-chop the rosemary. Add to the rose petals and lavender and crush lightly with a wooden spoon to release the essential oils. Add to salt and sugar.
 
Place mixture a pretty air tight jar and mix with enough safflower oil to make a dry paste.
 
Add the oil slowly.
 
Safflower oil is high linoleic acid which helps the skin retain water and it also is odorless and non-allergenic. It will stay on your skin and leave it looking and feeling most for hours, but it doesn’t have a greasy feel. This scrub can be used on your feet and body.
 
The dried herbs make the scrub not only fragrant but pretty. Packed in elegant glass containers it makes a great gift, too.
