Easter eggs may seem modern and cartoon-like, delivered by a cute little bunny, but eggs are ancient symbols of fertility, spring, and renewal.  And now beautiful chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies are essential parts of celebrating for many, even those without small children.  Prestat, a favourite of the British Royal Family for several generations has partnered with Barnes & Noble for the first time. Prestat has held a seal of the Second Royal Warrant for over 35 years. (The first Warrant was awarded by The Queen Mother.)  We were told that, “It is served at every served at every state banquet”. The company also reports that, “The chocolates & truffles continue to be a longstanding favourite of Prince William, Duchess Kate, and Prince Harry”.  I recently tried a sample of Presat’s Easter Chocolates.  I really liked the elegant presentation which is very European looking. The Pink Marc de Champagness10pres115001699-assorted Chocolate Truffles are decadent and rich. A sweet white chocolate shell wraps a creamy, rich chocolate center accented with fruity tang of Champagne. These truffles are very pretty pale pink. I also tasted Prestat’s grown-up London truffles made with gin and lemon-flavoured ganache covered in that same creamy white chocolate.  They make a selection of beautiful gold foil-wrapped eggs filled tasty rich truffles.  There are different flavour combinations and you can choose dark or milk chocolate eggGodivabunnys tied with a ribbon in pretty boxes.  The truffles cost $25 a box and the eggs are priced at $29.95. These beautiful chocolates are perfect for gift giving. You can taste Prestat chocolates at all Barnes&Noble stores in NYC April 3, 2015:  Tasting 12 pm to 1 pm and 4pm to 5 pm All stores will offer 20 percent off all Prestat from April 3 to 4  I can also never resist Godiva’s foil-wrapped Easter Bunnies in dark and milk chocolate. The small palm-sized chocolates are adorable.  They cost $6.50 each at my local market and are an elegant indulgence.  I also love See’s Candies distinctive and beautiful chocolates. See’s Candies has a full range of Easter treats that include beautiful foil-wrapped bunnies and sumpdownload (8)tuous eggs filled with different flavoured butter-creams. My personal favourite, The Easter Celebration Box, is sold out. It is a lovely box, hand-packed with a selection of beautiful See’s chocolates.   http://www.sees.com
